The Inaugural Graydin Qualitative Research Group

You love coaching but can’t articulate the impact you’ve seen it make. You believe it’s a transformative tool but you can’t convince critical stakeholders. You want to showcase its power but aren’t sure where to start.

We get it and we want to help.

From June 2024 to April 2025, we’re welcoming the inaugural Graydin Qualitative Research Group. The aim is for a group of educators to use the Qualitative Evaluation Guide we provided post Coaching Day to run a research project in your school. Get ready to collect compelling stories from your community and share the power of coaching far and wide! The group is only open to 12 individuals from 12 different schools. Applications are due on the 18th of April.

Outcomes

  • Produce a research paper you can share widely within and outside your school community, and potentially present at Coaching Day 2025.

  • Enhance your qualitative research skills, learning how to design, execute, and analyse research projects within their school settings.

  • Increase your understanding of the impact coaching has on various stakeholders and areas of the school community.

  • Connect with a diverse group of educators from different schools and learn from one another's experiences and insights.

  • Improve data-driven decision making in your schools and your confidence and leadership.

  • Contribute to the broader understanding of coaching's impact and help to advance the field of coaching in education.

Features

  • The Qualitative Evaluation Guide designed to walk you through the entire research process.

  • Live Online workshops to assist you during your research process.

  • Community encouragement and suggestions through a WhatsApp Group.

  • Led by and in collaboration with Quinn and McKenzie.

  • Opportunities to share your findings with our wider community.

  • Sub groups designed to help keep you on track and provide feedback throughout the process.

  • Publication of your research paper in our first annual Coaching in Education Research Report.

  • Opportunity to share your findings with Graydin’s wider community.

Design

The programme includes a series of workshops that will guide you through the research process. These are integral to building your body of research as well as sustaining the community of practice. Our expectation is that you can make all of the workshops. Or, if you happen to be collaborating with another person, they can attend in your place, if necessary.

Workshop One: Clarlify

This 90-minute Live Online workshop will take place on June 13, 2024 from 16:00-17:30 BST. Together you will clarify your area of focus, research project aims and what you need to set up to get started for launching your research project in September 2024.

Workshop Two: Research

This 90-minute Live Online workshop will take place on October 1, 2024 from 16:00-17:30 BST. By this time you will likely have everything underway and this workshop will help activate you further, providing you a chance to reflect on your research so far.

Workshop Three: Data

This 90-minute Live Online workshop will take place on February 6, 2025, from 16:00-17:30 GMT. You will have the opportunity to check in with your data analysis process and turning your data into a sharable piece of work.

Workshop Four: Share

This three-hour Live Online workshop will take place on April 30, 2025 from 14:00-17:00 GMT. All group members will distribute their research papers prior to the workshop and have the opportunity to present some of the key findings to the group.
