Maria Pia Maggioni

Head of Mandarin, University College School

London, UK

Originally from Milan, Pia has been living and working in London since 2015. After her Modern Languages Studies and teacher training, she joined University College School in Hampstead as Head of Mandarin and has been teaching Mandarin, Italian, French and Spanish for the past eight years. Since completing the Anatomy course she discovered a new passion in coaching - a love was born! She has engaged with coaching practices in and out of the school setting, finding her feet and style in this new way of communicating and making connections with students, colleagues, friends, family and strangers alike. It became clear to Pia how coaching could have a profound impact not only on the people around her but within herself. Pia has since worked to keep the flame of coaching alive at UCS by becoming a certified ‘Start with Heart Facilitator’. She looks forward to engaging more colleagues, both from teaching and support staff, across the UCS Foundation, partner schools and other schools as well as students and parents in Graydin courses in the upcoming years to share the transformative power of coaching.
